Her voice is beautiful no matter where it is, but I can't help but feel there so much more energy and passion when she was playing with Frida Hyvonen (whose solo work ranges from mediocre to amazing as well) and friends.chrishttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09766611910601990375noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6562173474664859221.post-78130348239368187792009-09-16T16:24:33.002-04:002009-09-16T16:24:33.002-04:00This is a lovely, mature piece of work that beauti...This is a lovely, mature piece of work that beautifully incorporates the elements of Qawwali without being overwhelmed by it.
The vocals are reminiscent of Mazzy Star without being so annoyingly cloying and the arrangements are complex but remarkably uncluttered.
Deeply impressed.Spenderhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15058731351393554627noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6562173474664859221.post-37885478297281838332009-09-16T15:43:37.626-04:002009-09-16T15:43:37.626-04:00This comment has been removed by the author.Spenderhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15058731351393554627noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6562173474664859221.post-14565140559268471502009-09-16T09:34:21.400-04:002009-09-16T09:34:21.400-04:00I really enjoyed "Greyest Love of All." ...I really enjoyed "Greyest Love of All." It reminds me vaguely of Great Big Sea (the Canadian folk-rock band). That's really what it feels like: the breezy calm of the sea. "My Boys" seemed alright but for one note in the acoustic guitar lead that was a bit off-key; not enough for me to call it discordant, but more than I could ignore. Kind of took me out of the song.

It all sounds interesting enough to check out in its entirety, though. Nice write-up.Seanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08593957419942795980noreply@blogger.com
